Meet the Mynor Xiquita Family, a family of three living in the Chuaquenum community. Mynor Xiquita (25 yrs. Old) and Ade (28 yrs. old) have a 4 year old son, Yefferson. Mynor is a farmer and Ade is a housewife.
Their former home was made of mud with a dirt floor and sheet metal roof. Their new home is built with reinforced concrete block walls, concrete floor, and metal roof. They also received a high efficient wood burning Chispa stove, Sawyer water filtration system with a 10-year filter life.
“Mynor and I are really happy for the new house, we feel is going to be very useful and safer for our son. Thank you very much!” – Ade, (Mynor’s wife).
This past December, we were able to visit Chuaquenum, a remote village on the mountainside of Lake Atitlan and a couple of hours drive from Antigua. Thanks to our partnership with Constru Casa and Home for a Home, members were able to fund the entire build for the community and now a total of 16 families have a safe and sound home.
